Bio

Jeff KsiazekHello. I am Jeff Ksiazek, and I play Irish flute, whistle, and guitar. I currently live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and perform with the trio áthas and with fiddler T.J. Hull.

I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with my Masters of Library and Information Science, concentrating on archival studies. I’m currently the archivist of the Ward Irish Music Archives.

I teach Irish flute, whistle, and guitar at the Irish Fest School of Music. Email me (jksiazek at gmail.com) if you’re interested in lessons!

These pages will contain music clips for students, musings, ramblings, and other assorted stuff. I’ve never been a fan of the idea of having an online diary, so it’s doubtful that you, humble reader, will ever encounter anything deeply personal on these pages.

As an archivist, however, I am interested in keeping some sort of electronic record of my existence, so I will record some memories and moments of my life. I’m going to try to look at this site as a way to document my personal and musical life without having to organize file cabinets in real life. I’m not good at keeping track of myself like that. Blogs will keep track of some of my day-to-day life (but nothing too juicy). Musical clips for my students (or my fancy) will document what I teach and play.

We’ll see what happens, at least.

NEWS: Fall semester whistle/flute/guitar lessons begin Monday, September 15th at the Irish Fest Center. Contact me if you’re interested in lessons: jksiazek at gmail.com (replace “at” with @).
